All Right, Minneapolis, We’re Gonna Do This!

It’s you and me, Handy Andy

Okay, so maybe I am flat busted broke. Shit happens. This will not stop me, though, for I have a cupboard full of beans and rice for the eating, plus veggie burgers and whole cut up chickens in the freezer. I am prepared for the long winter of summer — plus, I spent all winter putting on a layer of blubber under my fur to keep me warm in the bitterest of cold. However, I can’t very well entertain with no food, no booze, and a 13 inch television. I can’t very well feed my own blubber to guests… or can I?

No matter, for John made Christmas in May happen: a 12 pack assortment of fresh Summit beers. If only I would have moved to a location suitable for the similar acquisition of free entertainment. Oh yeah, it’s Steven’s Square, the new art district. I am totally restraining myself from swearing like a sailor on leave in hell. I felt all guilty for moving away from Northeast because I knew that I would be farther away from Art-A-Whirl and the slew of bars up dere in Nordeast, but if you read this post, you can find out all of the things that I want you to come do with me.

So, imagine if you will, you show up at my building after work on a Wednesday, I ply you with booze, and we head over to watch Goonies in full pirate regalia. OR, why not cowboys for the Magnificent Seven? OR, even better, Samurai for the Magnificent Seven, and just look really confused the whole time.

“Wait, we’re not watching Seven Samurai? When did that happen?”

P.S.: It is entirely possible that these events may conflict with plans that I have already made. Pre-existing plans take precedence. I think.

  1. Are you going to wear your pants backwards for Guffman?

I think sheets with holes for eyes will do for Ghostbusters.

  2. What about taking in my old lady’s bike for retooling and repair? What about that, huh? Isn’t that almost a cultural event? Isn’t it, huh? Fuck all those stupid little bands and stuff. Getting my Sears lady’s bike in working condition is the most important thing in the whole world. Isn’t it now? Isn’t it?

    Love, your Lady’s Biker Mom

  3. You will note that there is nothing scheduled on this upcoming Saturday. I’d be glad to go with you to Hiawatha Cyclery between the hours of ten and four. If that time range isn’t good, we can run to Freewheel on Sunday.

  4. Can we look at my bike Saturday, too? And get locks & a helmet?

  5. Steven’s Square Park has movies?!

Also, did I mention the time I saw a perfect harmony live group karaoke rendition of “In Constant Sorrow” at the Market BBQ. (Go late on Wednesdays.)

  6. P.S. I demand Grue eyes for a new avatar.

  7. Movies.

If you want grue eyes, you make the grue eyes.

  8. Showing at the Soap Factory - “Zombie Lands” until June 10. Wanna go this weekend? Open Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm
